Trump is clinging to hydroxychloroquine as the miracle cure that will save his presidency by clearing up this little covid-19 problem by next week.
Trump says he comes from a "particular school" that believes very strongly in hydroxychloroquine, and that it could be a "game changer."

A reporter starts his question by saying "there's no miracle drug to solve this..." and Trump interrupts him. "Maybe" it is, he insists.
Trump says he "feels very good about" hydroxychloroquine. It's "not a drug that has a huge amount of danger with it," and "it won't kill you."

STOP AIRING THESE PRESS BRIEFINGS LIVE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING. HE'S LITERALLY GOING TO KILL PEOPLE WITH THIS.

Trump, asked why he chose Easter as the date to end the shutdown, says it's because it'd be beautiful to have packed churches all around the nation.
Trump: "And I say, wouldn't it be great to have all of the churches full? You know the churches aren't allowed essentially to have much of a congregation now... So I think Easter Sunday, and you'll have packed churches all over our country. I think it would be a beautiful time."
Trump: "So we're open for church service, and services generally, on Easter Sunday. That would be a beautiful thing."

Hemmer: "Thank you for your time."

Trump: "Thank you very much."

First question at the Fox covid-19 townhall, to Pence: Cuomo says they need 30K ventilators, what's the hold up?

Pence: *string of empty platitudes about supporting states, no answer offered whatsoever*
Pence: Trump initiated the DPA. The reality is though... whether it be ventilators or other equipment, what the President and I have witnessed is that everything we have asked for, we have been given. No one has said no yet.

In other words, Trump did NOT "initiate the DPA."
Pence, after the interviewer has moved on, suddenly says he wants to go back to the ventilator issue. He then claims that, thanks to Trump acting quickly w/ the FDA, it was discovered ventilators can be converted to serve far more people.

Bizarre that Trump is credited for this.

Trump is claiming that "countries with Malaria" regularly take chloroquine, and so covid-19 infections have not taken hold there. This is insane, terrifying, grotesque, and yet aside from some angry tweets, the entire nation is basically just shrugging this horror show off.
Trump agrees that things are going "to be bad" with coronavirus infections, and then says things are bad with flu deaths too, with "50,000" dying.

What Trump doesn't say, but is clearly implying, is that we don't shut the country down for flu, so why shut it down for this?
Trump is returning to this theme again. Lots of people die from the flu, lots of people die in car accidents, he says, and we don't shut down for that.

And again Trump strongly implies, but avoids saying, what he obviously means: So why are we shutting things down for this?
