A lot of people really don't like hearing bad stuff. They chide others over saying or posting things that make them uncomfortable. We are in the middle of serious bad stuff. Stuff so bad it is going to wind up in history books if there's anyone left to write them. 1/17 #COVID19
It's not just personally bad stuff, like an illness or a job loss or a break-up. It's not just regional bad stuff like a natural disaster or a war. It's global bad stuff. 2/17
There are very few places that are COVID-19 free now, and most of them have wisely closed their borders. You can't escape. There is nowhere to go. 3/17
So we ALL have to hunker down and isolate in our own spaces as much as we possibly can. Everyone who can work from home should be doing so. 4/17
Stay 6 feet (2 metres) away from everyone who you are not living with. If they show symptoms (or if you show symptoms), stay away from them too. 5/17
Get food and other necessities delivered. Do not touch anything immediately, if possible. If you have to use a card reader machine at your door, stay 6 feet (2 metres) away from the delivery person. 6/17
Do the thing with the card reader and give it back. Go into your home and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds without touching your face. 7/17
If you can, leave the package delivered sit for several hours before you touch it. If you have to unpack and put away perishables, do not touch your face during this process. 8/17
Tie back hair that may fall into your face before you begin. Tickling hair is a major cause of face-touching. When you have done what needs to be done, wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. 9/17
If you have to go out to get supplies, or go to work, stay 6 feet (2 metres) away from everyone. You should not be able to touch anyone with your arms fully extended and their arms fully extended. 10/17
When you come back from shopping or work, put your things down, take off your clothes and put them in the washer. Shower. 11/17
Even after letting your groceries sit for a good few hours, wash everything thoroughly before using. That include washing the lids of canned goods before you open them. Wash your hands often. 12/17
Do not get together with anyone you don't live with. We are not having parties. Discover apps that let you hang out with people virtually. There are lots of them out there. Experiment until you find one that works for you. 13/17
Talk on the phone. Email, text. Learn to write letters to people. 14/17
Avoid elevators with other people in them if you can. Avoid public transport if you can. 15/17
Sanitize your hands often while out of your home. Wash your hands whenever you get the chance. 16/17
This is the new normal. There have already been thousands of deaths from this. This is NOT fear-mongering. This is the reality. 17/17
