7.7B people vs an invisible enemy. We will win

🌎 > 🦠
South Korea reports 64 new cases, lowest number in a month

This is incredible. Their relentless focus on testing, quarantines and treatment is paying off

2) Healthy 35 year old man contracted the virus

He had relatively mild symptoms (no hospitalization) and is recovering on his own. Seems as though he’s made almost a full recovery

@Doc_Sands

🚛 @3M has

- maxed production of N95 respirators to 100M per month

- Currently moving 500k respirators from South Dakota to impacted areas

- Investing to further double respirator output to 2B per year within the next 12 months

4) LVMH (world’s biggest luxury company)

Switched all of its perfume/cosmetic factories to make hand sanitizer that will be delivered for free

NY State is also making 100k gallons per week per @NYGovCuomo

5) People are back outside in Beijing, this is inspirational, but remember

- Very strong quarantine measures were used to take on the virus. In the U.S. quarantines are not as strongly enforced, vary state/state and are not as strict

- Took 2 months

6) In Turkey, people are leaving food for those who cant work/afford it during #COVID19

7) Testing in The U.S. is now starting to take off (long way to go)

- NY has ramped testing (60K so far). Don't be scared by the numbers. More testing = better ability to quarantine + treat.

We all know cases are way above reported (given lack of tests)

8) The #CryptoCovid19 alliance will match donations made in ETH/DAI to featured non-profits up to $100K

H/T @gitcoin too.

9) Tokyo is business as usual

Many expected a massive outbreak given close proximity to China

Reason: MASKS

“80% compliance rate (wearing masks) essentially eliminated the influenza outbreak”

#coronavirus
10) Masks may be the answer and yes you can make effective ones at home

A dish towel blocks 73% of particles 5x smaller than the coronavirus

11) Schools in Japan are reopening sooner. They were set to close until Spring Break, but they will now only be closed until late March.

Risk is a second wave. I hope we don't see that.

Ty @bitcoinembassyu for the tip

12) There is growing evidence of Chloroquine + Zinc or Azithromycin to treat #COVID19

There has been some pushback on the initial study, but we are seeing more and more experimentation with the drugs (Shanghai supporting just today)

H/t @JamesTodaroMD
13) Summarizing a resource

- Moderna vaccine clinical trials underway
- China cases way down
- antibody identified that can fight the disease
- Canadian scientists isolated the virus
- Plasma from recovered patients can be a treatment
