I have some good news today! Despite ongoing shortages of PPE, swabs, etc., overly restrictive testing criteria, and long turnaround times, the U.S. has now reached 65,000 tests per day, which is close to the lower range of South Korean per capita levels!

We still need to approximately double our number of tests per day in order to reach the levels Korea was testing at the height of their outbreak. And we probably need to do even more than that, given that we're going to have a lot more cases per capita.

But this is a start.
Oh, and looking state by state, it appears that much of today's increase comes from a massive increase in California.

That might mean that CA has started reporting tests they weren't reporting before. Or it might mean they did a batch of tests before and are reporting them now.
Also substantial increases in Florida, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Texas, which is good. Generally solid increases across the board, so it's not just a California reporting change.
