1/? There has been a stark change is the public’s feelings about the economy. Just 30% now say it is in “excellent/good” shape — a big decline in just 2 weeks. 77% say we are in a recession or headed towards one.
2/ We looked at America’s top worries around this crisis. Americans thinking of their friends and loved ones, reporting their health as their greatest concern.
3/ On a personal level, Americans are more worried about their family’s health than their finances, but on a national level heath and economy split.
4/ And Trump? We see a similar modest boost in his numbers as other polls. His Coronavirus approval rating is 52% approve/42% disapprove. That’s being driven in part by unusually high support with Democratic voters during time of crisis (24% approve). Will be monitoring that...
5/ Part of what may be going on with Trump’s ratings is that after the public saw initial failure in his early response (56% say he didn’t take it seriously) he is getting better (though still mixed) ratings now. Again, another thing we will be monitoring.
