Everyone who wonders what happened to evangelicals, how they support Trump, how they’ve twisted and become a white identity movement. I found the answer and it explains so much of how we got to this point. It’s a hidden history and it’s put all our lives at risk.
The push to reopen the economy by Easter is a propaganda move targeting white-identity evangelicals, a play on the knotted strains of Neo-Confederate theology, the worship of wealth, and the myth of this nationalist religion.

They see this as a plague from God on the unholy.

So. Jerry Falwell and Neo-Confederate preachers hijacked Christianity in the 1960's as desegregationists and Civil Rights leaders like MLK used the social justice teachings of Christ.

They changed the entire religion toward white supremacy as they believed in a racist God.

We don't talk much about the Confederacy because it's a frightening reflection of our modern world. But the Confederacy was extremely religious. Its preachers preached that God was racist and wove white supremacy into the world. Lost battles were God testing Confederates.

What we see now with Trump is an authoritarian, a tragically insecure man who protects himself through delusion and displays of hyper masculinity meant to camouflage his weakness. This is the bully’s gambit. This is why even the slightest slight sends him into a rage.

The Trump Administration is an extension of Trump and its dysfunction is typical for an authoritarian regime. It’s a circle of sycophants the leader pits against one another for competitions for his love and approval. They’re dangerous, destructive, and achieve very little.

He told America the worship of wealth and power would destroy it and lead us to a point of "crisis and immobility."

He was right. Donald Trump is the embodiment of crisis and immobility.
Ronald Reagan and the Republicans took advantage of Carter's meaningful warning. They rallied around the flag, weaponized meaningless patriotic rhetoric and flag waiving.

They told Americans there was nothing wrong with the country or themselves.

They were wrong. We're sick.
