on the Asian lineup: although the MD was sold in countries like Korea & Taiwan, there weren't many localised games at that time, so one of their priorities was making sure the lineup was full of games that weren't language-dependent, as well as pruning all the JP-heavy games
there were also games for which the license only covered Japan or for which the rights for specific countries couldn't be found; conversely, there were games that they could only license for the Asian region & couldn't be included on the other systems anyway

knowingly or accidentally, it seems Hori's Switch controller works on PCE Mini: d-pad, A & B for I & II, + and - for Run and Select, plus the home button for quick menu/run+select macro

There's train and farming and driving sims. Trains and tractors and cars have fan bases. So do spacecraft. Why isn't there a high-quality realistic spacecraft sim? I want the experience of flying Vostok 1 and Apollo 11.

Hey everyone! @emilyjmayo here with another thread on the female emperors! If you tuned into my last thread (which you can check out below), you may be wondering why I use the term “female emperors” instead of “empresses.” Read on to find out why. #Japan
One reason is translation. Simply put, it’s difficult, especially when working with cultural terms ingrained into just one of the languages involved, and even more so when dealing with ideas integrated differently in the source and target languages respectively.
So, when trying to figure out what to call the female emperors in English, “empress” sounds right. It seems like a direct translation, affiliating the ruler with a gendered term. However, the Japanese word for emperor does not have such connotations.
