There isn't actually any contradiction in the beliefs that (A) the virus is dangerous, (B) mass unemployment is dangerous, and (C) authoritarian government policies are dangerous. There needn't be any cognitive dissonance holding all three at once; they're not mutually exclusive.
It's okay to just not know for a while. It's okay to not know exactly what's going on while the picture becomes clearer. It's okay to take precautions and be alert and ready to act without believing everyone should have some magical omniscience about where this is all going.
So many of the disputes in anti-establishment circles arise not from critical thinking, but from a general discomfort with not knowing. Everyone wants to act like they see the full picture and know exactly what's going on, and right now you just don't. No one does. And that's OK.
