Curious to have knowledgeable clinicians or public health people provide some context to these numbers. These are from NYC health department syndromic surveillance data through yesterday. They appear to show ER visits for ILI and respiratory complaints peaking on the 25th.
2/ Now maybe they’ve peaked and will race up again for a new peak. I also wonder whether the situation in NYC ER’s is currently so chaotic and overwhelmed that the reporting system has broken down in some sense. Telling all but severely ill not to show up at hospitals cld also...
3/ be depressing numbers for obvious reasons. Anyway, curious whether anyone with relevant experience/knowledge can chime in on this.
4/ correction. Using “peak” prematurely here. Should say seems to be a down tick from 3/25.
