After 37 Governors took statewide action, @GovKemp decided to order a 10-day-only shelter in place. While this is a good first step, we are looking forward to reading the executive order. In the meantime, here is what Brian Kemp did not address during his press conference:
1. @GovKemp did not fully expand Medicaid, which would save our rural hospitals, create jobs and immediately cover half a million Georgians who are currently uninsured.
2. @GovKemp told renters he was sure their landlords would be “willing to work with ya” if they cannot afford rent rather than sharing assistance resources for both tenants and landlords.
3. @GovKemp did not grant grocery store workers and food processing workers hazard pay despite them being on the frontlines keeping Georgians fed.
4. @GovKemp did not call on @Georgia_AG to remove GA from the toxic ACA repeal lawsuit which could gut preexisting conditions protections for over 1.8 million Georgians and throw the healthcare system into chaos thedailybeast.com/gop-plows-forw…
