Hindus have a strict concept of "jootha"—personal hygiene in sharing food with another person's saliva/microbiome on it.

In general Muslim believe in communal sharing of food where fluids/biome is exchanged.

Does religious-behavior encourage community spread of #CoronaPandemic?
I am intrigued by the latest research on the human microbiome. It appears that many Hindu practises had high awareness of this.

Otoh, if some communities share the microbiome extensively, I wonder if that also encourages a certain herd behavior?

Eating from the same plate and drinking from the same bottle is *prescribed* in Islam. This is why these Orthodox Muslim groups do it. The Tik-tok videos are accurately portraying the belief.

@Ram_Guha Western medicine had also failed her, shall we call that voodoo as well? The point is that voodoo is a healing modality, including traditional remedies, and many people in Haiti and elsewhere benefit from it. It's not about one Western tourist.

So for no particular reason, I thought I might contrast certain parts of Alberta’s Conflicts of Interest Act (AB Act) with the corresponding parts of Canada’s Conflict of Interest Act (Cdn Act).

I use the Cdn Act not because it is the standard to achieve, but because people have some familiarity with it (as the PM has been found to have been in violation of it twice and the Minister of Finance ran into trouble despite being technically in compliance).

The Cdn Act was, by the way, part of the first major Bill introduced in the 39th Parliament in 2006, the Federal Accountability Act. This was the first Parliament in which Mr Harper was the Prime Minister.
