1/ Being a survivor of the #Rwandan genocide that happened in 1994…

I cannot help but notice similarities between what the west is doing with #sudan and what they did with #Rwanda — which was “rescue their own white people, and abandon the local BLACK to doom and death” ImageImage
2/ So far both #USA and #UK have apparently prepared planes to removed “their citizens” from #Sudan — this is what happened in #Rwanda too

In rwanda - white people were told to leave their black friends behind, and those black people were butchered to death…

This is awful 😳
3/ My family had a dreadful experience of this white privilege… my family was a mixed family - French/Belgians married to #Rwandans

They allowed white people, their spouses and only mixed raced kids! Any black adopted kids/ cousins etc had to stay behind … and perish!

Awful😳 Image

The European Convention on Human Rights is one of humanities' greatest achievements: an international response from Allied nations to the Nazi Holocaust & other human rights violations during WWII, to ensure they never happened again.

And now the SICK @Conservatives want out. 🤬
The new UN human rights chief @volker_turk has urged the British government to reconsider its plans to deport asylum seekers to #Rwanda, warning that in the past similar “offshoring” schemes had led to “deeply inhuman” treatment of refugees.

theguardian.com/global-develop…
In his first public comments on the controversy since taking office last year, Volker Türk rejected PM Rishi Sunak’s description of the £140million deal as “common sense”, saying that as well as being legally & ethically problematic it was also “very costly” & unlikely to work.

PROTEST NOTE: #Rwandan leader @PaulKagame has written to the @_AfricanUnion chairperson, Comoros President @PR_AZALI questioning the manner in which some sessions of the just concluded AU Summit were handled. The letter sent on 3rd March has been copied to all African leaders.
Pres. @PaulKagame, who was appointed by the AU to lead it's institutional reforms in July 2016 argues that at the assembly, leaders mandated to issue topical reports are not timed referring to interjections made when the Sierra Leone & Ghanaian Presidents were submitting.
Pres. @PaulKagame further argues that no debate was allowed on the appointment of the @AfricaCDC DG, even though three member states had requested to speak. Kagame says this is the only agenda item on which debate was forbidden.

On #bbcqt, Robert Jenrick INSISTED that #Rwanda was "a safe country". Bullshit. The truth is, Rwanda is one of the most autocratic, authoritarian, & repressive regimes ON EARTH, ranked 150th out of 179 countries on the Index of Liberal Democracy.

The 2021 US State Dept of 'Democracy, Human Rights & Labour' report on Human Rights Practices in #Rwanda makes it clear that #Rwanda is anything but "a safe country".

Significant human rights issues included:

-harsh & life-threatening conditions in some detention facilities;
-unlawful & arbitrary killings by the government

-forced disappearance by the government

-torture by the government

-arbitrary detention

-political prisoners or detainees

-politically motivated reprisal against individuals located outside the country

Does this sound "safe"?

1)Gone are the days when I thought #colonization was about skin color but I was wrong, black people can colonize other black people.A circle of #Tutsi #supremacists heavily supported by western nations are doing whatever it takes to colonize Africa on behalf of their masters! Image
2)The world's most admired president,Paul #Kagame,is doing to #Congo what King Leopold II of Belgium failed to accomplish. While King #Leopold killed more than 8 millions of #Congolese,Kagame is outnumbering him,he has killed more than 10 million and still killing with impunity! Image
3)Since colonization ended, they had to look for new ways to do it. Crazy #Kagame and his team of damn #fools took the job. They work as agents to former colonizers. They use their black skin to fool Africans and yet cause the same sufferings that the colonial era did to #Africans!

#CentralAfricanRepublic (THREAD)

1) 200 to 300 rebels attacked the capital #Bangui today (PK9, PK11, PK12 & Bimbo areas).

Govt, #Russian & #Rwandan troops repelled them. But the rebels remain in the hills & areas surroundings the capital.

Read @CrisisGroup statement 👇
2) The rebels were generally equipped or light weapons (including #AK47 & grenades), several #RPG & probably mortars.

No report of the casualties yet.
3) It's unlikely that they really wanted to size the capital, if not they would have come in bigger number.

They seem to be trying to isolate the capital from the rest of the country that they already control largely & install an attrition warfare just at the capital doors.

A palpable revival of #UniversalJurisdiction is underway in Europe.
Here are 7 examples of recent important activities (trials, arrests, investigations) that have taken place only in the last few weeks.
There are certainly more that I am unaware of.
And certainly more to come.
