I respectfully ask about policies being built to support the mental health crisis Alberta was facing pre pandemic, which will be exponentially heightened by the pandemic.

A study released, cited in above article, relates a 16% increase in death by suicide rates for every 1% increase in unemployment. Albertans voted UCP primarily due to promises of job creation. Albertans have been hurting for years now, due to the global economic downturn in O&G

With the decision to lift insurance & electricity caps, Albertans now face much higher costs personally for both. As well, 1 school I know had a 400% increase to its insurance. This is not accounted for in the 2020 education budget. Is it expected broke Albertans pay?

Additionally, with funding cuts to AB docs by UCP, I understand obstetrics docs now will have $48 000+ liability, making it the highest in Canada & least likely to attract docs here. Meanwhile, AB docs revoke their own privileges as it is unaffordable. Thus...

Rural labouring women will be unable to access their familiar AB fam docs, thus reducing continuity of care. As well, meaning traveling to urban centers which increases the risk of exposure to Covid19 with busier hospitals. How does this support maternal/infant health positively?

@AdrianaLaGrange Attempts to lay off required EAs who are supporting special needs children & parents. What additional mental health supports are being offered to students & families, esp those with special needs? Suicidal ideation rates are higher in this demographic.

@jkenney @Alberta_UCP The ability to re cap insurance & electricity is on you. What benefit is there to Albertans to sustain these higher costs? Albertans are desperate. Anything not beneficial to us ought to be looked at & reversed. Our health & lives matter before Corp wealth.
