We are pleased to inform you all that subsequent to the legal notice sent to @TwitterIndia informing that @fsmi_in had not violated @Twitter's rules or Indian law by sharing @IndianCERT's letter, Twitter has restored FSMI’s access to their Twitter account. newsclick.in/twitter-locks-…
Twitter had stated that FSMI had violated #TwitterRules specifically about posting #PrivateInformation of others without their express authorization and permission.
However, Twitter did not share which personal information was shared by @fsmi_in. The letter shared by FSMI had only piece of personal information i.e. an email address of the Public Grievance Officer at @IndianCERT. This e-mail address is a public facing email address.
Lawyers from @sflcin sent a legal notice to Twitter informing that FSMI had not violated Twitter’s rules or India law by sharing CERT-in’s letter. The legal notice stated that a public facing email address would not be considered as a private email address. #DigitalDefenders
The legal notice also stated that Twitter’s decision to block FSMI’s access to their Twitter account was in violation of Twitter’s own Policy on Private Information. #Privacy#ITRules#Censorship#TwitterIndia
At a time when the entire country is grappling with #COVID-19, mandatory #CoWin registration by @AyushmanNHA will lead to exclusion of citizens from 18-44 years from vaccination who do not use smartphones or do not have an internet connection. @rssharma3@MoHFW_INDIA
Not every citizen has digital literacy to be able to register online for vaccination via CoWIN's website or mobile application.
As @prateekwaghre pointed out that as of December, 2020, there are only 58 internet subscribers out of 100 people in India. This would further push people from getting #vaccination. @drharshvardhan
We also keep hearing about various #Hacking, #Phishing attempts and in times like these it is important to understand the basics of social media privacy settings to secure yourself from such attempts. #PrivacyAware
The report by @rajaharia suggests that #WhatsApp groups that use links to allow users to enter, may once again be vulnerable to being found online, allowing anyone to join the group. The issue appears to have been resolved as of now.
The issue is not just with group invite links, but also with individual user account profiles. #URLs of people’s profiles can now be searched on #Google. #privacy#privacymatters
As #DigitalIndia is becoming a reality, it is important to understand that maximum efforts have to be made to make internet free, accessible, and inclusive to all. #LetTheNetWork
Students have lost many hours of their education, people have lost their livelihoods, the media has been severely crippled, the economy has suffered immensely & businesses have collapsed in the absence of a stable internet connection. #LetTheNetWork#KeepItOn

“One of the most notable orders included #KarnatakaHC passing an order that no service/benefit can be denied to anyone by state instrumentalities for not installing @SetuAarogya”. Here’s @AnnoyedSingh, sharing her experience on Defending #DigitalRights in 2020.
The #PIL challenges the voluntary-mandatory imposition of @SetuAarogya and the invasion of privacy rights in the absence of specific legislation governing data collection and processing by it. #ContactTracing#app#aarogyasetu
