I made huge gains this year on #solana, #polygon & $GALA but i always take profits & manage risk.
If you wish you took profits to buy dips on #cryptocurrency this thread will teach you how i did it.

1/ PORTFOLIO - PT 1
I always aim for the following balance in my portfolio:
-Lower risk #Bitcoin = 40%
-Mid-low risk #Ethereum & #Solana = 20%
-Mid-low risk #Polygon = 5%
-High risk number of smaller #altcoins = 15%
2/ PORTFOLIO - PT 2
Some will have a riskier portfolio with larger allocations to #metaverse or #NFT plays.
BUT i will never forget that 90% of #altcoins went to zero last bull run. So i always like to layer into #bitcoin#ETH
3/ PORTFOLIO - PT 3
I am super bullish on #solana & #polygon thats why i hold bigger percentages of them too:
-#solana is a bet against #ETH if they don't sort out high fees & low speed.
-If #ETH makes it will be via #polygon IMO. They are buying up & dominating Layer2s.
4/ RISKY ALTS - PT 1
The remaining 15% of my portfolio is for smaller/riskier ALTS. I made my biggest gains this year on plays like $GALA & $SAND. However i ALWAYS de-risk & take profits along the way with these.
5/ RISKY ALTS - PT 2
IMO #metaverse & #gaming are overheated at the moment.
Eg $GALA & $SAND have about ⅓ of the marketcap of #steam with only a fraction of the userbase or revenue. I will buy more, but when they are cheaper.
6/ TAKING PROFITS - PT 1
I stillI hold decent bags of $SAND & $GALA. But i always shaved off profits & flipped into #btc#eth#solana etc
This mean i didn't get hurt too bad on recent pull backs.
7/ TAKING PROFITS - PT 2
But how did i take profits and when?
In truth it took me a long time & lot of experimenting to find the best balance.
But over the next few points i'll show you my thinking.
Overall its about balancing risk VS compounding gains.
8/ TAKING PROFITS - PT 3
I first experimented with taking out 50% profit for every 200% gain (ie x2) but:
-there was never enough left in a project to really compound & make BIG GAINS
-the $3000 total profit i might receive really wasn't worth the risk.
9/ TAKING PROFITS - PT 4
I then tried taking out 20% profit every 2x. Again problems:
-My total accumulated profits where now lower than before
-I needed a massive x32 or more to see big profits (this rarely happens).
10 - TAKING PROFITS - PT 5
I discovered my ideal ratio was taking 20% profits every 50%+ gain:
-This ensured enough was left in a project for a big compound effect.
-A 4-6x for example could still deliver a solid accumulated profit + have a decent amount left in.
11 - TAKING PROFITS - PT 6
The above ratio also gave me a greater probability of success.
Because a 4x-6x still gave healthy returns i didn't have to bet on an almost impossible x16
11 - TAKING PROFITS - PT 7
Once i take profits from a project i would then place it into a stablecoin and wait for the optimal time to DCA into #bitcoin or other blue chips.
BUT there is a lot of noise out there on #cryptotwitter.
Thats why i regularly collate the best indicators & charts out there to give you my take.

1/ GOLDEN/DEATH CROSS
Anything less than 1HR on the #bitcoin chart is just noise.
So lets zoom out:
-1HR chart: finally formed a golden cross on the 1HR
-4HR chart: we formed a death cross on 19th Nov but momentum looks like it might be finally swinging positive
Bullish
2/ DAILY & WEEKLY CHART
-1 WEEK: chart looks like we held the 50 DAY SMA, with a green candle close 🚀
-1 DAY: chart looks like we formed another falling wedge. Huge potential for us to bounce up again 🚀
But many people this year will have got #REKT'd on projects like #dogecoin#shiba
Starting out in #crypto is hard.
Here is a simple thread top stop you getting wrecked 🧵👇

1/ GET RICH QUICK - PT1
You hear stories of people making millions overnight like @ProTheDoge , who bet everything on $DOGE. But 99% of the time its pure luck.
2/ GET RICH QUICK - PT2
New investors are seduced by the #moon potential of smaller projects & invest more than they can afford to lose.
Remember to always only invest what you can lose & take profits when you can!
