The #EU Commission is drafting proposals for an oil embargo on #Russia, the foreign ministers of #Ireland, #Lithuania and the #Netherlands said at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, although there was no agreement to ban #Russian crude.

#Australia, #Canada and the #US, who are less reliant on Russian supply than Europe, have already banned Russian oil purchases. EU countries are split, given their higher dependency and the potential for the move to push up already high energy prices in #Europe.

#Russia/n oil has been excluded from EU sanctions so far notwithstanding President Zelenskyy repetitive instructions. But after the 27-EU country bloc agreed last week to sanction Russian coal - its 1st to target energy supplies - some senior #EU officials said oil could be next.

#Ukraine & Europe r still supplied with Russian gas. Italy & #Algeria have signed agreements to strengthen energy ties & increase energy exports. Italian PM Mario Draghi announced that they were a significant step in Italy’s drive to reduce its dependency on Russian gas.

#Italy, which is heavily dependent on foreign gas, bought some 29 billion cubic metres (bcm) from Russia last year, about 40 per cent of its total gas imports.
The #EU tried numerous countries to seek alternative gas supplies from #Russia, as requested by #US and #Ukraine.

Even if incompatible with the EU-Russia partnership and mutual interest, #Europe is asked by the #US and #Ukraine to shift away from Russia and stop its business ties. Europe is begging the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Azerbaijan, Qatar and Gulf countries for help.

The energy crisis is caused by the illegal sanctions against #Iran and #Venezuela who refused to submit to the #US dictate, unlike #Europe whose citizens are paying the price of the US decision to sell its liquified gas and sanction #Russia.

The seize of trade exchange between #Russia and the #EU reached $190 billion, driving the #US to drag #Russia into war in #Ukraine and forcing #Europe to impose sanctions that hurt the EU in the first place.

The #US consider the #EU as its most dangerous non-military threat. Europe, per US strategy, should always be dependent on the US military, follow a strategy that falls in the US interest and keep away from #Russia and #China even at the cost of Europe's interest.

It is not a war between #Russia & #Ukraine. It is a war btwn the #US & #Russia, with #China next on the US list of targets. Ukraine accepted to play the game.

The US needs war for its survival as a dominant power & will violently resist any attempt to create a multipolar world.

The long waited for UK-trained (mainly for false flags as secondary activity) White Helmets in #Ukraine, following the success in #Syria. However there is one difference, the west can demonise (& succeed) #Russia but can't launch bombs, as it did in Syria.

#US accused #China of moulding the world order to fit its interests". Unbelivable. It seems to me tt US officials don't realise that the world knows this is exactly what they have been & still are doing since WWII. Shaping the world to fit their own interest and unilateral order.

According to the art of propaganda war that the west is mastering in #Ukraine, the fall of #Marupol should not be considered a "victory" for Donbas separatists or an achievement for #Russia. Therefore, expect a false flag very soon. No rules.
