1/6 #Armenia and the #CzechRepublic will cooperate in the military sphere. The #Armenian government has started the process of ratifying the agreement "On military-technical cooperation between the governments of Armenia and the Czech Republic".

2/ It was signed in 2010, but it was not ratified for 13 yrs. The reason may be #Russia's threats. 🇷🇺 had a monopoly in the military sector of 🇦🇲 both in the supply of weapons, in the field of #military edu. Accord. to SIPRI, in 2011-2020, 94% of 🇦🇲's weapons were supplied by 🇷🇺.

3/ However, losing the war against #Ukraine, #Russia cannot sell weapons to Armenia. Russian military-industrial companies are under sanctions. And Russian weapons are a real curse for Armenia, which does not want to have problems with the West.

4/ Before the start of the Rus-Ukr war, 🇦🇲 transferred money to 🇷🇺, but Putin does not supply weapons. 🇦🇲 needs new partners in the West, in Asia, such as India, 🇨🇵, 🇪🇺, 🇺🇲. It is no coincidence that today the 🇦🇲's PM thanked the USA for stopping the attack of 🇦🇿 in 2022.

5/ And this agreement with the Czech Rep envisages cooperation in military edu, defense industry, other fields.

The draft decision of the Arm Gov states: "The agreement envisages cooperation in the training of specialists and technical personnel in educational institutions".

6/ Arm Gov: "The demands, capabilities of the parties will be taken into account. There will be other directions of military-tech. coop. as well, in which 🇦🇲-🇨🇿 show interest"

It is interesting that the 🇦🇲 gov made this decision after 🇷🇺's threats to not ratify the Rome Statute.
