Talk of a major witness linked to Bank Negara testifying at the RCI into forex losses in the 1990s today. Who will it be?
Ainum Mohd Saaid, former Attorney General of Malaysia & then head of AGC advisory services, is in court being questioned by Commission.
Former Bank Negara Governor Zeti Aziz is now being called as a witness.
"Chief dealer" for the forex trading Nor Mohamed Yakcop is reading his statement. Has been accused of directly causing losses in the past.
Looks like ex-Finance Minister @anwaribrahim is on tomorrow's witness list. He'd said it would be farcical for RCI not to hear from him.
Statement is 40 plus pages long.

JUST IN: King of Malaysia abdicates throne. No reason given.
Malaysia practices a rotational constitutional monarchy system whereby the country’s nine royal rulers take turns being King for five years at a time. Next in line is technically Pahang.
The royal rulers had reportedly held a meeting earlier this month. Speculation has been rife online too that Sultan Muhammad V’s recent marriage is somehow connected to this decision. But this has NOT been commented on by the palace.

Main areas probed by CCID:
• 1MTN notes worth RM5mil by Terengganu Islamic Authority
• #1MDB & PetroSaudi Intl joint venture & loans in form of Murabahah Notes
• purchase of assets worth USD3.5bil involving Tanjong Negeri
• issuing of US$3 bil notes by 1MDB Global Investments
During the course of investigations, police uncovered
• USD$972mil (RM2.973bil) was transferred to the accounts of former PM Najib Razak in 3 phases - “Good Star”, “Aabar” and “Tanore”
• 132 transactions involving illegal money identified

#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.

Today's terrorist attack in Pittsburgh is truly horrifying. My thoughts go out to the families of the victims. It's not enough to just send condolences, we have to look at the larger trend and acknowledge the biggest terror threat in America:

Hate groups and the extreme right
Experts disagree on the exact % of terror attacks that are motivated by far-right ideology, the differences explained by different methods of measuring or different time-frames, but they're unanimous in that it's over 2/3 in recent decades.
This analysis by Defense One (itself fairly far right) puts it on the low side at 71%.
