Folks, if you complain to me about my new books/ARCs stacks being one type of author more than others, refer complaints to publishers.
Also, if your complaint tries to shame ME for the books sent to me, unbidden, by publishers, it's not going to have the reaction you want.
The stacks of books I show are literally what arrived in the last few days. Sometimes they are varied in types of author, sometimes not.
I of course encourage publishers to send me books by authors of all sorts. But THEY have to decide to send me things. I can't make them.
Nor do I want to. Posting of stacks of books I do for fun, and to promote authors. It's not my job. I'm not chasing publishers for books.
Tutting me because a particular stack doesn't have the right ratio of authors will annoy me and change nothing re: overall pub diversity.
I am delighted to highlight authors of all sorts in my stacks. Please encourage publishers to send books my way. All my info is on the site.

Maybe it's just me BUT WHEN I WAS THAT AGE I fucking well voted in every single election I could because I felt it was MY ACTUAL RESPONSIBILITY AND OBLIGATION AS A CITIZEN to do so and also IT'S NOT THAT HARD to get up to speed on what's on the fucking ballot KIDS

So, while I've been on tour, I've had a couple of people apologize about getting my books from the library rather than purchasing them. Let's have a quick thread about books and sales and libraries, shall we?
One, obviously I'm happy when you buy my books for yourself. Thank you if you do! BUT if your budget doesn't allow that, getting the book from the library is the next best thing, from my point of view.
And why is that? Well, because the library buys my book! If enough libraries purchase the book because the interest from the patrons is there, that's a nice, reliable base of sales for any writer. They also buy extra copies because of demand, and to replace old books.

1. So, I've seen some cretinous dumbasses speculating that I am/should be the next to be punished or fired for my Twitter presence. I find that unlikely and I will tell you why in the following thread.
2. Most immediately relevantly, I don't work in media tie-in or otherwise do work-for-hire generally, so I'm not "fireable" in that regard. All of my fiction work todate is original (save Fuzzy Nation, which was adapted from a public domain work).
3. With regard to book contracts, the contractual language is such that they are severable by mutual consent -- I can't be "fired" unilaterally.

This morning the Trump Admin. announced in an @CFPB staff meeting that it will shutter the @CFPB office dedicated to protecting student loan borrowers. This will affect 44 million people and $1.5T in loans. Reactions to this awful development in this thread:

1) I have been saying for the past 4 months that not only will North Korea denuclearize, but they will sign a declaration ending the Korean War! Never in my right mind did I think the end of the war would happen first but that is exactly what is happening folks. UNBELIEVABLE!

#New PA cong. map increases D chance of winning the House majority by 4%. They only need a 6.8% generic ballot margin now (down from 7.7) to be favored.

Diff. will be closer to 10% in Nov when uncertainty from polls is ⬇️. Redraw is a very big deal.

One major reason the new PA map is such a big gain for Democrats is that it solidifies, not just tips, PA districts in Philly burbs. Also creates one additional vulnerable R district. (Easily seen in this map made by @JMilesColeman)
My forecasting model will have new PA map in the near future. This is not just a simple switch; it’s a coding redesign, restructuring of input, & drawing new geographic files. Takes a while (for me, a student).

All different races of Mankind are derived from Manu and Shradha. The current Manu is Vaivasvata Manu.
2/ The word Manu literary means man but it is a title given to the progenitor of mankind. According to Hindu Puranas there are many kalpas (One day of Lord Brahma the creator) and each Kalpa has 14 manvantara and each manvatara has one manu. So basically each Kalpa has 14 Manus.
3/ The current manu of the present manvantara is Shraddhadeva or Vaivasvata Manu of this current Kalpa. He is the son of Vivasvat (Probably Surya) and is therefore also known as Manu-vaivasvata.
