On the non-release of impact studies - the Government argues that it will be “undoubtedly detrimental” to negotiation interests to publish..
... noteworthy that European institutions have already done their own impact studies - some have been published - eg here the Parliament...
... and on a per capita basis by EU27 country, impact of different modelled Brexits by 2030:
Eg This the EU PArliament’s Economic and Scientific Policy Committees assessment of Brexit impact on GDP by 2030 between UK and EU27:
... based on these so far published impact studies from a variety of sources:
Average total GDP loss by 2030:
EU27: 0.1-0.5%
UK: 1.3-4.2%
As an aside this is a rather good chart of the tariffs implied by WTO most favoured nation terms -
So here’s the full Brexit impact assessment report from the European Parliament: europarl.europa.eu/RegData/etudes…
point being - the EU institutions do still believe in economic models like this, and in the case of the Parliament in publishing them...
Government case is that not publishing them has some sort of persuasive impact on Barnier or the EU27
