1- The question of this article from Sept 2016, (will SA modernize or will the old order destabilize reform) has been answered now in Nov 2017, SA will modernize under Mohammad bin Salman (MbS).
2- But how much influence will MbS and Saudi Arabia have over the rest of the Muslim world? What about Indonesia, Africa, and Europe? If/when MbS takes over he'll have a lifetime to see it through.
3- Who's with MbS? Trump is. They're both working to restructure the political & social. Trump only has 7 more years though.
4- We saw what happened after Reagan's 8 years. The economic boom lasted through the Clinton years. But was squandered away (beginning with HW) without the personality of Reagan.
5- The same may happen after Trump. We'll get lukewarm Presidents and the swamp will recreate itself.
6- I'm optimistic in the short term but pessimistic over time. Fascinating thread though Thomas. And I listened to Dr. Jasser with some different ears. I'll pay more attention to him in the future.
