I just published my thoughts on how the killers apps of crypto are actually assets.

1. Store of Value Coins (like Bitcoin)
2. Privacy Coins (like Monero and Zcash)
3. Cash Coins (like Bitcoin Cash and Stellar)

Where is Ethereum? I think the jury is out on ETH... it hinges upon its value as a platform, which in turn hinges upon the value of the products built on it. So far, I don't see much real value created by those dApps. medium.com/@jillcarlson/t…

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills playing around with USDC on @coinbase. I've got some USDC... now I want to convert it back to USD and withdraw to my bank account (or even PayPal). I looked at the FAQ but I don't see a convert tab. What gives?

1/ 10 years ago today, in an unknown location, a mysterious figure whose identity is still unknown, tapped a key on his keyboard, spurring his CPU into action.

In doing so, Satoshi reified his vision for a decentralized digital cash that he'd published 3 months earlier.
2/ The fan in his computer began spinning to keep the CPU, burning from the burden of work it had been given, from overheating.

The CPU in Satoshi's computer was searching for a special pattern, much like a digital needle in a haystack, that would secure #Bitcoin's first block.

Spending #Bitcoin today is senseless. But if we manage to make it a good store of value, then it will naturally be used as a medium of exchange in the future.

1/ Instead of focusing on the act of "spending", we need people want to "earn BTC", to "be paid in BTC". We need more hodlers.

The economic and technical consequences of stressing one viewpoint (to spend) over the other (to earn) are profound and irreconcilable.
2/ Money's essence is being used as a medium of exchange (MoE). But for something to become money, or a universally accepted MoE, it must first follow evolutionary stages. First, comes store of value (SoV), second, MoE, and third, unit of account (UoA).

We're attracted to having large numbers of things.
Some #altcoins should therefore split to unlock latent value; the more utilitarian the $crypto token, the more potential benefit if cheap & numerous.
eg $GEO - large caches seem more bountiful, single tokens have cheap utilities
More examples:
$BLOCK - Service rewards are non-decimal numbers
$FANS - small bets are still whole numbers; big bets are BIG numbers
$DCR - better representation as a currency as well as store of value
Everyone says #Bitcoin is infinitely divisible and wallets can be revised to move the decimal, but no coin to my knowledge has ever done this (instead splitting by fork). Attempts to hack people's impressions, like promoting denomination in bits (100 sat), have failed so far.
