“Without adequate evidence” is the fallacy of the century. Donald Trump and his personality pathology have been in the public eye for 4 decades. We’ve seen more of him on TV than any psychiatrist could ever hope to witness of even their longest term patients. It’s obvious af.
This might be a good time to inform the folk who think well trained psychiatrists can’t possibly ascertain Trump’s pathology & differential diagnosis from afar that the psychiatry board certification exam requires us to accurately identify diagnoses w/nothing but a 3-5 min video.
I repeat, the gold standard for demonstration of competency in psychiatry is the ability to glean differential diagnoses from limited narrative descriptions/video representations of symptoms/behaviors. Trump’s presentation would be one of the easy, no brainer questions, just FYI.
Bottom line is y’all can take issue with us publicly discussing what we see when we look at Trump, but what we’re not gonna do is pretend the science isn’t clearly defined or that it’s impossible to identify psychiatric pathology w/out a face to face encounter or extensive exam.
