If you have ever called zuku (which I have done several times) you know the drill

"please hold while we retrieve your account details"

Then they give you the menu.. Dial 3 for.. Bla bla
If you've done this as many times as I have you already know to dial 3.. 1.. 9

To speak to a customer care rep

This is beside the point
Anyway the customer care rep asks for your account number and once you give them.. They proceed to read to you your details..

Full name
Residence
Phone number
Email

Without verifying that it is actually you
When I noticed this.. I decided to do an experiment..
First I needed a willing victim.. I'm not sure why but I picked @Mwirigi.. So I DMed him to seek his blessing before I proceeded..
He was game
I did a little digging on Twitter and found some correspondence between @Mwirigi and @ZukuOfficial.. And there was an account number..

Just what I needed
I called zuku.. And.. to cut the long story short.. I was given @Mwirigi's phone.. Email and Residence

No questions asked
This means that as long as your zuku account number is on Twitter.. Anyone can get your phone number email and know exactly where you live
Also why the hell do they ask me to "hold while they retrieve my account details"

At what point do they use this information

Can someone @ZukuOfficial explain this

On September 1st, @BlueShieldCA cancelled my family’s health insurance without notice.

My wife is 8 months pregnant and was denied service at the doctor’s office last week due to lack of coverage.

All my efforts to get our coverage back so far have failed.
On September 14th, we received a pharmacy call saying my wife’s prenatal supplements could not be refilled due to a change in our insurance. I called Blue Shield (henceforth BSC) and was asked by the representative, “are you aware your coverage has been cancelled?”

I said no.
Our coverage was a COBRA plan, so I was told the issue had to be sorted out with my former employer and their HR company. My problem was news to them as well.

After discussion w/ my former employer (and many very stern emails to the HR firm), HR resubmitted my COBRA paperwork.

This surveillance tech is deployed at Sabarimala currently with Artificial Intelligence based high-res cameras fitted onto drones synced with various databses and biometric profiles under what they call "Predictive Policing" - stopping crime before it starts or future crimes.
Under Predictive Policing Hot Spot analysis police personnel will analyze & predict geographical areas of increased crime on basis of crime data. It will process all patterns relating to time of occurrence, exact locations, even shops, hotels, bars or other establishments.
Detectives will study social & infrastructural environment of a location & its local demography. Analysis will also be made of such things as local weather conditions, days on which offences are committed, whether it was around pay-day etc. But how they know its your pay-day? :)

Joshua was very much a rainbow baby 🌈 and we were so excited and over the moon when I finally made it into the second trimester. (Alex and I are both big rugby fans!)
I was working as a 1st year Registrar in A&E when I suddenly broke my waters at 24 weeks. I was transferred to Southampton @UHSFT who have a specialist level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They were wonderful, and did everything they could to stop my labour over Father’s Day.

Today, I found out that some young people I know (ages 15 and 16) are in 'school' Whatsapp groups with teachers.

I salute the dedication of teachers who go beyond, but I think this a very dangerous breach of privacy / work-play balance, and must be stopped.

Here's why: #Thread
1) You cannot join a Whatsapp group without revealing your phone number. This is an immediate risk for minors - the room for abuse is so large I'm stunned that schools allow this. Pedophilia, sexual predation, grooming - all possible when adults have kids' phone numbers.
2) There is also risk of harassment by other kids. I remember my friends in high school (esp girls) who kept phone numbers very private, because they didn't want to be constantly bombarded.

When a teacher makes you join, there's no opt out. Everyone gets your phone number.

Parmi les espèces les plus en danger, on compte les amphibiens. Grenouilles, crapauds et autres joyeusetés subissent depuis les années 1980 une déclin plus que préoccupant de leur population.
En 2004 une 1ere évaluation révélait que 32% des espèces étaient globalement menacées, au moins 43% connaissaient une forme de diminution de la population et qu'entre 9 et 122 espèces avaient disparu depuis 1980. (science.sciencemag.org/content/306/57…)

UCC had opportunity to comment on the #Data.Protection & Privacy Bill. The enactment of this law is long overdue. A comprehensive law on the collection & processing personal information gives effect to the right to Privacy envisaged under Article 27(2) of the Constitution
UCC welcome the protections offered by the Bill in terms of export of data, breach notification requirements, data subjects access rights, automated decision making, compensation and the right to be forgotten and provision for financial and penal sanctions for breach of the law.
Distinction between Data collectors & data controllers.
The Bill should however clarify & distinguish Data Collectors, from Data Processors & Data Controllers. Clause 2 is inconsistent with international good practice which provides for two broad categories of Data Controllers
