This is absolute bullshit and I am about to explain why. Cue thread. 
Black box batteries typically don't last a month. In the case of that particular plane's black box, they would have expired in early April of 2014. While black boxes are made to be almost indestructable, there is no way MH370's black box sent out a recording 4 years later.
Like I said, the batteries of MH370's black box would have run out in April of the year it disappeared - keywords, "would have". The plane's black box locator's batteries expired in December of 2012, and its cockpit voice recorder's batteries expired in June of 2014.
Someone pointed this out the day it was posted, and the response that Tyler (the user who originally made the voicemail go viral, currently under the handle of @/HOMOC1DE) gave was that it didn't matter as long as people liked it.
People liked it, sure. People liked it so much, in fact, that his account seems to have conveniently gained 20 thousand new followers in the wake of it.
Thing is, though, I was in more than one group chat and more than 20 individual conversations with people who were having panic attacks and said they felt sick from fear. So I'm not so sure everyone liked it as much as he thought they did.
The voicemail was real. Some of the things Tyler himself posted, and some of the "findings" he retweeted, might not have been legitimate at all. If that's true, tens of thousands of people were misled in front of all of us.
This wasn't fun for some people, it was terrifying and anxiety-inducing, and I can tell you with confidence that the spread of misinformation didn't help that.
I'm gonna be frank with you all right now, and I honestly couldn't give two shits if Tyler or any of his mates tweet some obscure Rupaul's Drag Race gif as a response to me. Except for the voicemail, there's a huge possibility this was a ploy for followers.
If you're viewing this, do everybody a favour and retweet the thread. I'm still getting notifications and messages from scared people and I want it to come to a close already. The "black box" theory is not the only part of it that I have reason to doubt. Much more to come.
