Am becoming increasingly annoyed by all these lurid alt-right leavers who keep saying "But we'll be able to do this & that after Brexit". Will we? What can't we do now? Their argument is fantasy-on-stilts, predicated on yet more devaluation of UK currency (which they've hedged).
"If only" I could believe that these alt-right Tory blukippers have the UK national interests at heart? When it screams at me through every pore, that they're totally self-centred, self-serving, self-interested & (guess what?) self-invested! And the benefits of Brexit are what?
And the benefits of Brexit are what? 21+mths into this madness, someone should surely be able to update us? Not "we could do this or that vagueness" but how will be net better off (however measured!) than we are TODAY! No sane person commissions CHANGE that is not of net benefit!
Nobody can recall a British Government ever embarking on a national project of such eye-watering magnitude, cost & disbenefit, that will impoverish all of the UK (on HMG's own analysis!) for NO general benefit! In this regard, Brexit is entirely unprecedented and must be stopped.
In pursuing an ideologically-driven Brexit, to the now proven disbenefit (per its OWN analysis!) of the vast majority of UK citizens, HMG is patently neglecting its wider duty of care to act in the National Interest. This is, or should be, actionable under UK constitutional law.
Blukip Brexit's lack of ANY 'plan' is driven by ideology, fantasy, tax avoidance, greed, racism & xenophobia - not great characteristics to take out to the World when looking for new markets? This cult-like myopic madness won't end well, unless people are given a #FinalSayForAll.
Urging @lucyfrazermp & neighbouring Cambridge MPs @heidiallen75 & @DanielZeichner to reflect on all Brexit issues, very carefully, given upcoming parliamentary votes. The National Interest should NEVER be compromised for party political purposes! #FinalSayForAll would be fairer!
MPs & Peers have a clear duty to protect & advance UK's National Interests, within the context of a rapidly changing world. So, if self-impoverishment, isolation & self-demeanment were their choices? one would have to deduce that interests other than 'national' were being served.
