Any trade deal with the US will in fact take years to negotiate, and the talks are yet to even begin. (2)
And we now know that reaching a deal would involve huge trade-offs, such as agreeing to accept imports of chlorine-washed chicken and hormone-injected beef, and potentially agreeing to open up the NHS to US pharmaceutical companies. (3)
Even then, the Government’s own analysis has shown it would never come close to making up for lost trade with Europe. (4)
It is not surprising that as the reality of a trade deal with Trump becomes clear, more and more people are calling for a People’s Vote on the terms of the final Brexit deal. (5/5)
