We no longer have an institutionalised & clearly defined priesthood & moral authority, as we did in the past, but it still remains a very powerful force & is encapsulated well in #GeorgeOrwell's idea of #BigBrother.
Big Brother is far more subtle than portrayed in Orwell's 1984. He deceives us into loving him by posing as our nation & as a moral authority. Anti-fascists & anti-racists (including everyone in a position of influence & power) are all unwitting minions of Big Brother.
According to Wikipedia, "#Britishness [i.e. British identity] is the state or quality of being British or of embodying British characteristics. It comprises the claimed qualities that bind and distinguish the British people and form the basis of their unity and identity."
According to me, British identity is an Orwellian construct based on lies, deceit & a regime of rewards & intimidation.
To identify with Britain as one's nation is to identify with, i.e. to love, #BigBrother.

This is how Big Brother disguises & legitimises himself, his minions in the British establishment, & the immense power they wield & abuse. He is far more subtle than as portrayed by #GeorgeOrwell in 1984.
DIVERSITY is Orwellian newspeak for #RacialMixing (social & biological) or #MeltingPot.

Jonah Goldberg, @JonahDispatch, in his book #LiberalFascism, goes some way towards recognising the fascist origins of progressivism (or should I say, the progressive aspects of fascism?), but not nearly far enough. The Orwellian nature of DIVERSITY goes unmentioned.
