This week in 2017, the US committed a war crime by using white phosphorous—which like napalm, burns flesh down to the bone—over the heavily populated civilian area of Raqqa, Syria. In June 2017 alone, US bombing in Syria killed 472 civilians, including 137 children. 
White phosphorous burns at 815° C/1500° F & causes horrific injuries, which burn deep into the muscle and bone. It can even reignite weeks later. It is illegal when used as a weapon or in civilian areas.
White phosphorus fragments can enter the bloodstream and cause multiple organ failure. Even relatively minor burns are often fatal. At least 14 civilians were killed in white phosphorous strikes by the US in Raqqa, Syria in the first week of June, 2017.
The US officially classifies white phosphorus as an incendiary weapon; however, US military documents show that they have admitted it is actually a chemical weapon.

The US bombing of Raqqa, Syria left the city in utter devastation & killed at least 2,000 civilians in total. Nearly a year after the bombing, families members are still pulling bodies out from under the rubble.
