You know @asemota, I really love technology and respect technology entrepreneurs but one thing troubles me. I've contracted some of the top names in Nigerian tech before and the following keeps happening:
Speed of response is an issue AND quality of response even more so - problems that keep reappearing like gremlins in the machine (which tells me the original design was flawed). I wonder if some tech people are more tech focused than business focused.
It's like they don't appreciate that an hr of downtime equals hundreds of thousands of Naira lost. It's not an inconvenience. It's a real economic issue. If there was a financial penalty for every hour of slow response or for recurring issues, would tech guys be more responsive?
Or is it a capacity issue? Too much demand, too little supply of great developers? Or am I expecting excellence in a nation that doesn't really value it?
I think there might be an art to working with tech guys - I find that many are phlegmatic and need to be coaxed. I am chloleric and just want results.
