A little bit more about language. I am fascinated by translators and lexicographers. I worked for a little while in translation and terminology development. For me, translation is like cracking codes. You have to find the correct words to unlock the meaning and context.
Translation from languages that have different structures is particularly fascinating because you really get to be creative. It meshes the mathematics of accurate translation with the flair of a translators voice.
I like to look at the translations of the Harry Potter books as an example. Voldemort’s name is an anagram. And for the anagram to make sense in other languages, translators have to get creative. google.ie/amp/www.indy10…
