McConnell is trying to bluff Senate Dems into an early vote. Dems should call the bluff.

Delay is good and a loss for McConnell.

McConnell can schedule the vote for whenever he wants but he likes to gaslight Dems into thinking things are their fault. He did the same thing when he went nuclear on Gorsuch.

He'll hold the vote when he wants to hold it, regardless of what Dems do.

Politically, a Sept vote vs Oct is a wash. Not a major scheduling issue for an in-cycle Dem to be present for one vote in Oct.

The tell here is that McConnell would prefer an early vote.

As the poker rule says, Dems should figure out what their opponent wants & disappoint him.
