In my analysis, I counted debunks about YourNewsWire + InfoWars from Facebook’s U.S. fact-checking partners over the past 19 months to see how effective they’ve been. I was still able to share several major hoaxes on Facebook without receiving a warning. Here’s why. 
I then used BuzzSumo to measure how both YourNewsWire + InfoWars’ reach has been affected since Facebook launched its fact-checking product. I found that both are still getting massive engagement on Facebook infogram.com/yournewswire-v…
While incomplete, my analysis calls into question Facebook’s ability to scale fact checks to fake news hits and punish the pages responsible — and the company is acutely aware of the challenge.
