Second Reality by Future Crew was released 25 years ago. At Assembly 1993.

Members of the Future Crew demo group ended up working with companies such as Remedy (Max Payne), Futuremark (3DMark), PopCap (Bejeweled), AMD, Unity etc.

The original name of the demo was "Unreal ] [ - The 2nd Reality", as it was a follow-up to "Unreal", released in Assembly 92.

In 2013, Trug of Future Crew (Mika Tuomi) uploaded Second Reality's original source to Github. Fabien Sanglard (@fabynou) did an extensive analysis of the code: fabiensanglard.net/second_reality/

There has been tons of tributes and remakes of Second Reality. However, I'll list just one: Second Reality for Commodore 64, by Smash Designs.

Fun fact: F-Secure (then known as "Data Fellows Oy") is mentioned in the greetings part of the demo.

Assembly 1993 was in Kerava. I was there.
