tumblr's user identity system is more of a flaming shitwreck than the internet in the 80s and i have no idea how they accomplished that. did they take a class
idgi like people had unambiguous names on usenet but all posts on tumblr are either from slime tony or they're 19 seconds old and somehow from a deactivated account
tumblr is actually an imageboard, there are no usernames, you just post and it picks 9 words out of the millenial dada dictionary and slams a -deactivated on the end. the identifier takes you to their horrifying fullscreen 404s

i decided to play with pygame a little. i created a sprite subclass, instantiated it and put it in a sprite list, and when i kill() it it never gets garbage collected so the program is instantly uselessly memory-leaky
this is 100% of my experiences trying to do anything interesting with code. i immediately hit a brick wall like this and i have no idea where to begin figuring it out, or if the helper library is fundamentally broken
i swear to god the only time in my life i ever got a *single inch* into this is when the only library i was using was SDL. if i use anything fucking else, i just spend endless hours trying to figure out the bizarre mentality of someone elses library instead of doing actual work

been watching a lot of speedruns and thinking again about how the way they break apart game design challenges my assumptions about how games are made
in the NES era in particular, I had always assumed that monsters were almost 100% RNG. it turns out they're more like 0% RNG. I'm not sure *why* I assumed that, because I knew better
When the NES was my only console, I played a small handful of games countless times. I never got good at any of them but for the parts I knew, I never got surprised. I would get my ass kicked by enemies I *knew* were coming.

But if something they don't like rings true, they'll feel the need to lash out & tell you you're wrong.
If you don't deliberately go out of your way to be provocative and offensive, and yet you offend people anyway.

Facial recognition selfies. Now we all know the reason behind them.Yet no one will stop using them .
People are so consumed with LOOKING good to others .. never realizing they fall into the trap of what society deems ... right .

They say if we love our COUNTRY we are somehow the extreme.

Huge thanks to community of people who have widened my wisdom of how society works. Fellow helpless people helping each other.
It started sometime in 2011, when I knew nothing, enrolled along with family.But our enrollment packets were lost, EID wasnt even searchable. I did write some emails to support, but yielded nothing more than, please enroll again. As the need wasn't real, did not enroll.
Parents gave up at a later date, enrolled, got UID successfully generated. I resisted, mostly because of laziness, but did not have developed trust enough to enroll. On random browsing sessions, have heard Usha Ramanathan on YouTube, but never took deep dive into issues.
