@NatashaBertrand I find it very interesting that in the same month that Benczkowski got the call to investigate the Trump Tower-Alfa Bank connections, the man who called him, Viet Dinh, donated to Orrin Hatch and Jeff Flake PACs. These are Dinh’s only donations for the 2017-2018 cycle.
@NatashaBertrand Dinh’s on the 21st Century Fox board with Elaine Chao’s brother in law Jim Breyer, and was on the News Corporation board with Chao. Chao appointed two of Dinh’s, Kavanaugh’s, and Benczkowski’s Kirkland & Ellis partners, Steven Bradbury and Jeffrey Rosen, to DOT SES positions.
@NatashaBertrand Dinh was on Ken Starr’s Whitewater team with Kavanaugh, was co-counsel with Benczkowski to Senator Domenici during the Senate’s attempt to impeach Clinton, and—with Kavanaugh—vetted a George W. Bush’s judicial nominees.
@NatashaBertrand There’s a strong possibility that Kavanaugh vetted Gorsuch for the 10th Circuit, based solely on a letter from Gorsuch’s benefactor Philip Anschutz, who gave $500,000 to McConnell-affiliated Senate Leadership Fund on the day before McConnell killed Garland’s nomination...
@NatashaBertrand ...and $250,000 one month before longtime Federalist Society advisor Chao had a private dinner with Gorsuch at the home of member of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, John Cornyn.
@NatashaBertrand In July, Senator Cornyn spoke beside The Federalist Society’s Leonard Leo to a “small group of financiers.” This meeting, the “Koch summit,” was held at Philip Anschutz’s Broadmoor.
@NatashaBertrand Back to Orrin Hatch: In 2006, Hatch suggested that Kavanaugh’s tenure as Bush’s staff secretary was “particularly good judicial training.” Twelve years later, Hatch is doing nothing to effect the production of Kavanaugh’s records from that time period.
@NatashaBertrand Hatch—and Grassley—are no strangers to Anschutz-connected campaign funding, via Wellspring Committee and Judicial Crisis Network operatives.
@NatashaBertrand Essentially, it appears that:

1. FedSoc grooms, then nominates SCOTUS Justices.

2. Fox News controls the narrative regarding the nominees.

3. Philip Anschutz provides funding to key GOP Senators.

4. GOP Senators engage with FedSoc to actively shill for the nominees...
@NatashaBertrand ...and to fight against the release of relevant nominee official records.

And Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao are adjacent to—if not the hub for—this.
@NatashaBertrand Recall that the “Boycott (Anschutz’s) Coachella” movement was but a flash in the pan as it was shown that Anschutz had stopped donating to anti-LGBT causes. With a SCOTUS stacked with FedSoc- and Heritage Foundation-backed Justices, the effects on all Americans will be far worse.
