Recently released new #Article7 @EUCouncil document in which Polish government's dishonest explanations accompany a misleading Powerpoint - doubt Council members have ever been confronted with such obviously deceitful material/behaviour before
@EUCouncil I mean come on... The Polish government's White Paper contradicts (not to mention multiple public statements made) the Polish government's "explanations" given to Council members
@EUCouncil No doubt community of judges/legal professionals will be impressed by original points made by Polish gov's legal eagles whereby judgments can be effective without being implemented or published but not enforced because of a Gov "annotation" denying their lawful/binding nature...
@EUCouncil Last point (been a long day): Qs were asked by a total of 13 delegations (France, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Estonia)

No Q from UK government which once upon a time used to care about the #RuleofLaw...

1/ Two most important features of ECJ VP order: its *immediate* suspensive effect re rules on forced retirement of SCt judges & its *retroactive* effect re SCt judges already dismissed on basis of these rules
2/ On the + side (that is if you believe in the #ruleoflaw): all previously “purged” SCt judges must be reinstated + current First President of SCt must remain in place (as per the Polish Constitution one may add)

2/This could not be « a new transition », as neither EFTA nor EEA are open to a temporary membership and I doubt their members would accept such a change.
3/ On top of that, due to the fact that there would not be an actual period of transition, UK would fall in cliff edge and a backstop would be necessary because EEA does not allow custom union with EU and does not provide EU single market on agriculture.

#New PA cong. map increases D chance of winning the House majority by 4%. They only need a 6.8% generic ballot margin now (down from 7.7) to be favored.

Diff. will be closer to 10% in Nov when uncertainty from polls is ⬇️. Redraw is a very big deal.

One major reason the new PA map is such a big gain for Democrats is that it solidifies, not just tips, PA districts in Philly burbs. Also creates one additional vulnerable R district. (Easily seen in this map made by @JMilesColeman)
My forecasting model will have new PA map in the near future. This is not just a simple switch; it’s a coding redesign, restructuring of input, & drawing new geographic files. Takes a while (for me, a student).
