1/ 10 years ago today, Satoshi Nakamoto released version 0.1 of the #Bitcoin software. About two days later, the brilliant cryptographer Hal Finney (RIP), had downloaded Satoshi's code and was also running it, increasing the node count of the Bitcoin network to 2.
2/ As with many things related to #Bitcoin, Hal grokked its significance immediately.
3/ Today there are over 10,000 nodes running the Bitcoin software, dramatically increasing its resiliency and guaranteeing its revolutionary monetary policy.

1/ 10 years ago today, in an unknown location, a mysterious figure whose identity is still unknown, tapped a key on his keyboard, spurring his CPU into action.

In doing so, Satoshi reified his vision for a decentralized digital cash that he'd published 3 months earlier.
2/ The fan in his computer began spinning to keep the CPU, burning from the burden of work it had been given, from overheating.

The CPU in Satoshi's computer was searching for a special pattern, much like a digital needle in a haystack, that would secure #Bitcoin's first block.
3/ Here is that needle:

It is the hash of Bitcoin's "Genesis Block", which created the first 50 bitcoins ever to be mined (by a quirk of Bitcoin's protocol these 50 bitcoins can never be spent).

1/ I'm so excited to see this documentary about The Great War. Most people have little or no knowledge of the first World War, despite it being historically far more significant than the second. It spelled the end of the old European order.

2/ It also spelled the end of the classical gold standard, which had brought prosperity to much of the world during the 19th century. The world had finally escaped the Malthusian Trap only to enter a century of statism, fiat money and mass murder.
3/ Part of the disinterest in the Great War is the antiquated footage we have of the events. We see the past as a series of snapshots of soldiers awkwardly goose-stepping at 16 frames per second, making it harder for us to empathize with their struggles. It seems a caricature.

The probability of #Bitcoin above 8000 in the near term is considerable. And so is the probability of bitcoin breaking the year lows. Miners, exchanges and ICOs will not stop selling large volumes of crypto just because $BTC made a higher low.
Given the supply & demand landscape, the probability of bottoming without a) extreme capitulation among bitcoin longs or b) a demand shock is low.

Bear markets do end in V-shaped reversals. Capitulations bring in large motivated buyers, which can lead to a sustained upwards feedbak loop.

There is nothing more for you to do. There are two outcomes:

-you being stopped out
-you reaching your target

either is fine

realizing losses > being a bagholder
realized profits > unrealized profits

I go into this rather extensively. In part because of just how *much* has surfaced recently on how vulnerable it is.

For criminals at least.
If your wallet public/private key is out there, people can literally Google it.

But notice just how *many* huge cryptocurrency law-enforcement takedowns have been in the news recently.

1/ WHY YOU SHOULDN'T BE AFRAID OF A BEAR MARKET FOR #BITCOIN : Looking at the big picture for $BTCUSD in a log chart, it seems that this correction for $BTC is completely normal. We may even go as low as $3k, but if you zoom out, this will allow us to bounce off that trendline
2/ and thus draw our next impulse wave (3) which can push price as high as $100k. Media will talk about it way more than in 2017 and we will have a general adoption by the public (thanks to #LightningNetwork ?). Another big correction will occur (wave 4) and we will buy -
3/ again - in the 78.6%/88.6% fibonacci retracement while mass media will tell us that #Bitcoin is dead (again ?). And we will probably have our "final" 5th wave which could drive us above 1 million $ per $BTC.

Was chatting with a smart money friend last night about $Bitcoin. Got into it a bit about bubbles.

You guys know I'm a TA guy but I'll do my best to share the view I have on fundamentals.
1) The sooner you stop equating $BTC to $USD or fiat terms, the sooner things start making sense. We know #honeybadger doesn't give a damn about shitcoins... well, USD is no exception, my friends.
You can't compare Bitcoin to fiat, it's apples to oranges. Bitcoin inflation is known and anyone with a grip of math can figure it out.

CPI by contrast is infinitely more complex, and requires no math at all to know it's complete BS.
