@TokenHash @VladZamfir Legal intention is *largely* irrelevant; "human 'legal laws'" are sooooo constitutive of the "blockchain environment" and of our political reality that even imagining & articulating a truly a-legal blockchain world proved impossible for crypto's most creative & radical thinkers.
@TokenHash @VladZamfir Just reflect on that for a second. Don't rush to "refute" this. Don't fight this. Don't think of this as an attack. Just take a breath and ask, "why?" Why didn't crypto take a MUCH more explicit a-legal stance? Certainly could have. Why is it not doing so now? (Hint: this convo)

The infosec world has a long-established term for such glib claims: "Snake Oil" - this terminology goes back to the 1990s or earlier, for vendors who were selling sub-par cryptography as "military-grade" or other supposed but meaningless description interhack.net/people/cmcurti…
Particularly telling for "Snake Oil" are the words and phrases that are used to describe the security solution, process, or tool, its development, mechanism, or vendor:

* "Trust Us, We Know What We're Doing"
* "Unbreakability"
* "Military Grade"

1/8 It’s time to set the binance record straight and let the world know the truth. The binance - DGB story starts with us refusing to pay the “listing fee” last summer/fall. And continuing to refuse to ever pay it for the last 12 months.
2/8 Several key members of the DGB community were accused of being Chinese spies last fall in WeChat groups attempting to undermine CZ... Groups none of us were ever part of or aware of since none of us use WeChat. Major miscommunication here.
3/8 Binance used our social media attention for the Citibank Tech4Integiry event in 2017 to gain attention for itself after first launching. Several twitter polls were won for DGB and a listing was “promised” on several occasions.

1/ I had a little dig into the legal implications of Vote Leave cheating on spending limits (short thread)
2/ In General and Local elections there is a longstanding procedure for an ‘Election Court’ (basically the High Court sitting in a different guise) to scrutinise a result. It happens via the Representation of the People Act
3/ So if there is a serous breach of the rules, or cheating or some other kind of inpropriety, the Election Court can overturn a general election or local election result (eg the Woolas case (theguardian.com/law/2010/dec/0…). The law even applies to local election referendums

"In DE, we succeeded in amending a boring, overlooked line in the law that changed everything about how a corporation could exist - the requirement that a corp keep a "stock ledger".
Now, corporations in DE (the majority of the fortune 500 and almost all of the tech unicorns over the last 10 yrs) don't need a "stock ledger" that's a book or an excel spreadsheet. It can just be a #blockchain . Crazy stuff.
