1/ There are 35 Senate races this year.
23 women are running.

cawp.rutgers.edu/potential-cand…
2/ For the 435 House seats, there are 239 women still in the running. That's almost as many as every filed in any previous primary.
3/ There are 36 gubenatorial races. 61 women filed, and 16 women are still in the running. That's more than ever filed or got to general, by a long shot:
4/ And 24 women are still in the running for Lt. Gov.
5/ Another 89 women are in the running for statewide offices like Secretary of State (gets to run elections).
6/ There are more than 3,000 women still in the running for state Senate and House spots.
7/ Let's pick a few random states and see how many more women are running for statehouse than in years past. Here's Alabama:
8/ Here's Georgia:
9/ Here's, ahem, Maine:
10/ North Carolina has seen a big jump in female candidates.
11/ In Nevada, which has 42 statehouse seats, 45 women are in the running. Nevada could be the first state to have a majority female legislature.
12/ Holy moly, look at Pennsylvania. There are more Democratic women (84) running than have ever served before (72), and a total of 118 women of both parties running. Wow.
13/ A similar sea change is going on in city councils, regional offices, and etc. So while today sucked, the future is female.
14/
