The General Assembly has endorsed, by an overwhelming margin, an “enabling” resolution giving the Palestinian observer mission powers of a member-state, albeit for a limited amount of time.
It gives the “state of Palestine,” acting on behalf of the G77 and China, the right to introduce and make statements, submit and co-sponsor proposals and amendments, and raise procedural motions, among others.
