Trump was right. This is basically a sequel to the Kavanaugh investigation, where the GOP & Kavanaugh searched for a mutually agreeable fiction to allow them to move on (and settled on doppelganger theory).
We seem to be on a slippery slope here: first conniving to prevent proper investigation of serious sexual assault allegations and then conniving to prevent proper investigation of a brutal murder.
Big shout out by the way to all the respectable Republicans and Never Trumpers who were happy to provide cover for avoiding a serious Kavanaugh investigation. The moral degradation of the Khashoggi cover-up also implicates you.
