Me : I listen to many opposing views from @acgrayling to @williamheath to @mikebutcher to ... a long list. The views belong to sensible people, often friends and including family.
Me : My reasons are around democracy and sovereignty.
X : Why are you against a people vote then?
Me : I was against holding the first referendum. I'm certainly not in favour of a re-run.
Me : In your view, not mine. That history has yet to be written. I do not know who is right or wrong.
X : I can't agree with you. I'm going to have to unfollow.
Me : That's your choice, not mine. I will still follow you.
Me : We are certainly struggling to come to terms with the divisions in our society that we have ignored for so long. But, I would argue, that realising you're sick is the first step to treating the causes of sickness.
Me : I would argue that view is a problem. For a few, the UK was doing well. For many, it was anything but. I still don't think people understand how divided and unfair our society is.
Me : Maybe, but that's not the point. We were ignoring the problem, if we had voted to remain then we would have continued ignoring it. The shock of #brexit for many was that so many disagreed. It's a wake up call to reality.
