A thought occurs regardling early voting:

Democrats, as per @LarrySchweikart, tend to dominate early voting.

Blue collar Dems flipped to support Trump in droves in 2016.

The R registration numbers may be a reflection of this.

Perhaps the spike in early voting are D->R flips

@LarrySchweikart I mean, this WOULD be the most logical explanation for the 10-100k+ difference we’re seeing between the 2016 and 2018 numbers.

How Republicans vote didn’t change, just who is voting as a Republican changed.

@LarrySchweikart And that’s if people were bothering to change their party registration. Some of them may have hung onto being registered Democrats... only to see their preferred candidates usurped in primaries by an unhinged mob of millenials with their chosen socialists.

@LarrySchweikart That’s what happened in the KY-6 district Democrat primary. Jim Grey, the former mayor, was the mainstream candidate and was on the whole well liked. Then a mob of socialists appeared out of nowhere carrying the regressive candidate McGrath into victory.

@LarrySchweikart Repeat ad nauseum nationwide, factor in the 2 year tantrum the Democrats had, and then factor in Trump’s economy.

Seems to me like it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility for a lot of Democrat voters to decide they’re tired of losing to people from the left and right.

@LarrySchweikart And maybe, just food for thought, they decided that a party obsessed with whatever topic SJWs get in a tizzy about that week, cold war McCarthy era reenactors, and geriatric patients really wasn’t for them.
