Following last night's Thousand Oaks shooting, there's been an uptick in Twitter traffic about "false flags". We downloaded tweets containing #FalseFlag/"false flag" (and filtered out content related to unrelated topics such as Syria).

Here are some examples of the tweets asserting that the Thousand Oaks mass shooting is a false flag. The #FalseFlag theories vary, but everything from #Calexit to voter fraud to claims that this shooting is a "distraction" from the outcome of the 2018 midterms surfaces.
Here's the retweet network for #FalseFlag/"false flag" (with terms unrelated to the Thousand Oaks shooting filtered out). A number of these accounts, including the largest node (@LizCroken) are #QAnon fans who've crossed our radar before. . .
Who tweeted about the Thousand Oaks shooting being a false flag first? A variety of accounts, none of which ultimately ended up being the major purveyors of #FalseFlag theories regarding this event.

Finally, here are the hashtags most frequently used by accounts with tweets asserting that the Thousand Oaks shooting is a #FalseFlag. In an utterly unsurprising turn of events, the top hashtag is. . . #QAnon.

Time for some fun with political vocabulary. We downloaded English-language tweets containing "neocon", "neoconservative", "neolib", or "neoliberal", resulting in 40747 tweets from 24603 accounts in the last 10 days.

How are these labels used? Based on the fact that only 15 of the 40747 tweets contain one of the phrases below, people aren't self-identifying as neocon/neolib. Anecdotally, the majority of uses are pejorative, typically directed at folks deemed insufficiently ideologically pure.
Combined retweet network for neocon(servative)/neolib(eral). The accounts using only neocon(servative) are largely right-wing, while those using neo(liberal) or both are generally left-wing.

There's been a bit of tempest in a teapot lately re the #IntegrityInitiative, following the release of leaked documents. We downloaded tweets containing "Integrity Initiative"/#IntegrityInitiative, yielding 27213 tweets from 9054 accounts in the last 10 days.

Retweet network for "Integrity Initiative"/#IntegrityInitiative. Several of the prominent accounts (@georgegalloway, @Ian56789, @ShoebridgeC) have a history of pushing #FalseFlag theories about the #Skripal poisoning. Sputnik reporter @KitKlarenberg also puts in an appearance.
Speaking of Sputnik, here are the media sources most frequently linked from tweets containing "Integrity Initiative"/#IntegrityInitiative. Sputnik and RT comprise 45% of the volume, with the majority of the rest being comprised of Western conspiracy-oriented sites.

Meet @ASGFiltration. At first glance this appears to be a promotional Twitter account for a business, but some of the content is. . . odd. The account has replied 722 times with the tweet pictured, and many of the replies seem out of context.

The tweet referencing Trump is not the only tweet @ASGFiltration has repeated. It is the most frequently repeated and the only one that is overtly political.
Repetition of tweets suggests a bot. @ASGFiltration doesn't tweet 24/7 and posts all tweets via the Twitter website making automation hard to prove, but manually posting the same tweet 722 times sounds more than a bit drudgerous.

BUT. What if certain accounts are on POLITICALLY BASED BLOCKLISTS (a common social media practice done by users)?

I ran a @sysomos scan on mentions of "false flag" or #falseflag and "Syria" from April 1 to April 16. Surge on April 8, and consistent high level thereafter.
The most-retweeted accounts come from a mixture of backgrounds - pro-Kremlin, pro-Assad, far-right, conspiracy fringe.

Note among the top 10, for example, Partisangirl, Alex Jones, Ian56789, Kim Dotcom.
