As of now CNN has the Dems at 225 seats and the GOP at 200 seats with 10 races to close to call, plus + 7 for the dems. Now looking at the seven called races that had the smallest margin (as of now) you can see that the difference between Dem control and GOP control is:
20,170 votes. That's it. In a country of 330 million 20,170 votes decided the control of the house. Now with the 10 races to close to call that will probably expand some. Since they are too close to call there are most likely under 1,000 votes difference in the races.
So add another 10,000 votes if the dems win all of the too close to call. and you have around 30,000 votes total. That isn't taken into account the PA redistricting that gave the dems a +3 edge before votes even began.
30,000 votes is not a mandate for socialism.. The dems would be well to remember the razor thin margin that secured them the house. It's not hard to change 30,000 people's minds. but you know

"muh we are all doomed"

If you look at the Senate its worse for the dems.
For those that want to run the numbers, yourself. I've used ballotpedia for the numbers and
GA 6th
MI 8th
NM 2nd
NY 22nd
OK 5th
SC 1st and
FL 26th

as the districts with the smallest margins that flipped from GOP to dem hands. I didn't use PA at all because of redistricting
