THREAD FOR STAN LEE.
Stan Lee gave us more than co-creations X-Men, Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four & Spider-Man. He gave us creeds to live by. Principles to emulate. Villains (and racism) to fight. He gave me vital cornerstones of my belief system. My sense of responsibility.
He helped give me a sense of hope. Why? Because I could use all his lessons in real life. That’s why his stories were so powerful. It wasn’t the super powers (sometimes it was). But as I got older, Stan Lee...
gave me real world applications for all those values. And unlike politicians, corporations, advertising or anything else, those lessons were GOOD. For the sake of good. Read these now. They were written as way back as 1965. #RIPStanLee
Today, that’s what I struggle with most. That we’ve lost our sense of good. Sure, we know how to fight. But if you’re just trying to win, and fight for nothing but yourself, or for power, well...you’ve already lost. He was so nice to me even in our small interactions.
Personally, I will forever use the lessons Stan Lee gave me: To fight for others. To use my creativity for good. And to know that with great power...comes this undeniable never-to-be-doubted incontrovertible fact: STAN LEE LIVES FOREVER. #Excelsior!

he spent the first ten minutes trying to convince my wife that he invented the phrase “You da Man.” She actually believed it — until Mrs. Bush started yelling: “Stop teasing the poor girl!” From there, I told him I was researching a book about the life of a former President.
He quickly invited me to spend a week in Houston, with unprecedented access to him and Mrs. Bush. What did I learn? That he was one of the most decent and honorable people I’d ever encountered. He loved his family, loved his sports, and believed deeply in the power of service.

Then you could walk into ihub or Nailab with only an idea, you didn't have to pay for a hot desk, it resulted in companies like Wezatele, sematime, eneza, etc.

Every other weekend there was a Hackathon.

Hackathons help your idea grow & get validated, learn to pitch, meet other engineers, get feedback & if lucky you get some $ for OPEX.

Then some smart-a** KOTs attacked Hackathons & funders (NGO’s) got shy & stopped funding them
So corporate's stepped-in to fund that gap that NGOs left, but as usual they had self interest as businesses.

1. To protect their downside, they didn't want a 20 yr old Uni-kid surprising them & disrupting their entire business.

2. Acquire new young customers i.e banking etc

Tragically what the #CorruptGOP doesn't seem to get is that because they are not dealing in facts, & they are propagating falsehoods to their base, an entire generation of Republican voters, workers, apparachik's at every level; the U.S.A. loses ultimately. There are
People basing real decisions, at real jobs- both public & private sector-on false information. We have the most powerful military, biggest Economy, in the most industrialized nation in the world making Domestic & Foreign Policy based on fasle information.
This can & will end only one of two ways. Either we reverse course before catastrophic consequence or we experience what could be the most catastrophic multi-national event that has occurred since WW2 & the most grave consequences since our Nation's inception nearly 300 yrs ago.
