Amazon did the research and found that no single city could handle that much growth as quickly as they needed. Comments from peanut gallery pundits fail to grasp that researching this issue was part of the process. Multiple cities isn't a terrible outcome.

Mike Rosenberg of the Seattle Times: "Amazon has singlehandedly accounted for 30% of all jobs in Seattle this decade." In a few weeks construction of 3 million square feet of new office space starts right next to my building east of Seattle. Filling that with STEM grads is hard.

But some businesses just do the losing money part. A critical skill is knowing the difference between the two types.
Customer-based corporate valuation (CBCV) = valuing a business on a "bottoms up" basis by valuing the customers. In a subscription business especially, this is an essential process if you want to understand if real value is being created despite a lack of current GAAP earnings.
"CBCV isn’t about being profitable from day one. It’s about variable profitability in net present value terms (while still being mindful of fixed cost overhead of course!)" Determining whether a specific business is a delicious cheesecake or a turd requires detective work.

Holiday shopping tip for retailers: If you're going to offer live customer support, know that it will always set the standard for your brand value. #Fail to communicate clearly, or provide resolution with integrity, and you lose not only the customer but their influence network.
Whatever complaints we may have about @amazon, their customer support is generally excellent, and so their customers stick with them. Features offered tend to work, and problems are resolved with the minimum possible fuss. Sadly, other brands, attempting to compete, fall short.
While @amazon is presently having a tough time breaking into bricks and mortar grocery sales (@WholeFoods), I anticipate they will eventually crack that nut. @Walmart started poorly with its online presence, but has been learning from its mistakes, and improving well.

So I’m gonna be sharing a personal story today. When I was in high school, my family and I went on vacation in Morocco. We went to experience the culture, try new food, and visit historical sites. We thought it was going to be just like any ordinary vacation, until it wasn’t.
On my family’s second day in Morocco, we went to visit an orphanage in Meknes, where my aunt was just adopting her infant child. We were overjoyed to welcome a new cousin into our family.
As we were leaving, one of the staff members asked if we’d be interested in sponsoring an older child’s education. We wanted to help in any way we could, so of course, we agreed.

The Airtel/K2 transaction is neither a merger nor acquisition. It's a brand endorsement arrangement, were K2 entered into agreement allowing @Airtel_Ug to use her Trademark, Brand name (K2 Telecom) & Resources to market @K2Telecom products & services to customers @UCC_Official
Under the Brand Endorsement Agreement, K2 customers will continue enjoying the same or similar services with a different code prefix (0708). The customer migration will be voluntary. Customers will exercise their contractual right to either move to Airtel or not.
