Those opposed say under 16 is too young to make a decision on how to live. Clearly they know no trans kids. Our trans kids are already living their lives, the GRA has no bearing on this. The GRA is about their life & identity being recognised & respected. #ProtectTransKids
Those opposed seem to think GR is a 'profound decision'. It is not for trans kids who have already updated all their other ID, who have been living their lives with their identity respected for years
Many respondents seem to confuse accessing a GRC & ability to socially transition or access medical treatment. Little knowledge that these are not linked. Public has no understanding of trans kids. Scottish Gov needs to now consult with the actual kids & families who are affected
61% of respondents support 16 year olds accessing gender recognition. This figure was 66% in Scotland, 51% in the rest of the UK, & 70% in the rest of the world. Rest of UK less supportive of trans youth than Scotland, but even in England/Wales/NI a majority support trans youth
