An apology and a call for free speech from Esther Betts, one of the transactivists who attempted to intimidate and prevent feminists from having a meeting at the Jam Jar in Bristol.

I was chairing that meeting and on the stairs with Julie and Heather. I remember Esther, who stuck me as young, as someone who had finally found their tribe after possibly having a terrible time at school (this is just a guess), and as very plummy.

I wasn't frightened of Esther
I feel misrepresented in the article, for example I absolutely do not believe that trans women are "all male fetishists trying to prey on little girls." But that's why it's so important to have dialogue, as Esther acknowledges.

We need to have these conversations.
